Alex Aligizakis, aka “Condor”, brings an energetic and driven feel to his productions. His focus on crafting simple catchy arrangements, true to the artist performances, and crystal-clear punchy-fat tones, makes him and his style unique. Alex started his music career as a drummer, which helps him to break an artist’s song down to its rawest elements without over complicating them. He prides himself on capturing real performances, and taking a raw idea or vision of a band or artist and molding it into exactly what the artist desires.
Alex has been working in the Vancouver studio scene for 13 years. He began assisting at The Warehouse, The Armoury, and Chad Kroeger’s own MountainView Studios. In the past few years Alex has branched off on his own Production and Engineering career with some recent successes – engineering Art of Dying’s debut self-titled LP, co-financing and engineering Warner Music / RoadRunner Records signed heavy rock band Hail the Villain’s debut, Population Declining, (which was nominated for Best Rock Record at the 2010 Juno Awards), and mixing Vancouver darlings Bend Sinister’s latest LP, Small Fame. Alex also has some “roadie life” experience as a live sound engineer having travelled through Europe twice and the US extensively, including 2 performances on the Jay Leno show and 1 on the Jimmy Kimmel show, with the infamous Nickelback.
Alex moved to Vancouver Island in 2010 to setup his own studio, and has had the privilege to work with more and more great artists this way, including: Chris Witoski, Arn Rhys, and Chad Brownlee. Alex just finished mixing a record for Victoria’s own Mindil Beach Markets, and is producing, engineering, and mixing a full length hip-hop record for Panther & The Supafly out now!
