SPOTLIGHT /// DREEMA /// DRACULAS REVENGE ///OCT 30/20 RELEASE ///
Name: Andrew Cheema (Dreema)
Where are you from: Coquitlam, BC
How did you get into making music?
Started out by playing drums in my middle school band, then I heard Skrillex and now I’m here
What program did you attend at Nimbus/Year?
I just finished taking Electronic Music Production
How did NIMBUS help you specifically?
The feedback I was able to get from the staff on mixes was incredible. The teachers definitely helped my music sound more polished and complete.
Who inspired you to make music and who influences you currently?
Avicii and Skrillex made me realize that you can tell a story without using words. They were the reason I fell in love with the genre, but recently I’ve been super inspired by ZHU, Prince, and Martin Garrix
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
My main style is a combination of trap and house music, but my tracks vary from songs that make you want to rage to songs that make you want to cry.
What have you been working on lately and who have you been working with?
I’ve been working on my EP Dracula’s Revenge, and working on a ton of other singles. The EP has a ton of collabs on it from edm artists to rappers.
What is your creative process like for this EP?
I always wanted to make a project that felt like one cohesive piece. So with this project I decided I wanted to try a more dark house approach. I started the first couple tracks of it about 10 months ago and just kept tweaking them over time. Then made the other 2 tracks a few months back.
A new EP is set to be released Oct 30th, Tell us about this project?
The ep is called “Dracula’s Revenge” and it’s a concept project with a very dark halloween vibe. It’s 4 tracks that vary in subgenres from house to trap, and this project is the first look into a new side of music.
How can fans find the new release and past projects? Social Channel Tags?
You can find all off my music on any platform under Dreema, and my other social media platforms like instagram are @dreemaofficial
Any future projects you are working on currently that we can look out for?
I’m working on a ton of new singles and collabs, as well as a new side project with two other artists but I can’t give out too many details on that just yet.
