Program Overview

The Live Sound Recording & Mixing Program explores the logistical, technical and creative elements involved in the production, sound engineering and recording of a live musical event. The five core components included are: live sound reinforcement, live event recording, PA and sound system design, equipment installation/maintenance and show management.
You will be equipped as a sound engineer learning live sound reinforcement which includes all technical aspects of effectively using a PA system to enhance the audience experience by working with the performers to create a compelling sound mix. Live event recording strives to ensure that you can professionally capture, enhance, edit and mix a live performance, empowering you to offer rich media content to prospective clients. The topic of sound system design will enable you to meet the needs of any show producer by masterfully selecting and implementing the right equipment for the event. Equipment maintenance and installation will give you the tools needed to permanently install sound systems and conduct simple field repairs on equipment. The show management element will inform you about stage management and tour management, ensuring that you become well rounded potential employees in the field.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS interested in this course are advised to speak with a Nimbus Admissions Specialist at admissions@nimbusrecording.com to clarify study permit qualifications and any financial aid details.
