Nimbus was envisioned to deliver knowledge, technical skills, and supportive mentorship in the recording arts, so that our graduates can immediately enter their job in the music industry with confidence. We are a safe space to help you create your style, from music to personal image. Year after year, our grads proudly master sought-after skills. Start your career today.
Our story began in 2009 with award-winning music producers GGGarth Richardson and Bob Ezrin. GGGarth got his first music industry job in Toronto, and after several years in Los Angeles, he decided to settle in Vancouver and continue his music career there.
“I had moved back to Vancouver and, over time, we couldn’t find like-minded people. So [Bob and I] said, ‘we should open up a school and mentor people how we were mentored.’” Who were these great mentors? None other than GGGarth’s own father, the godfather of the Canadian music industry, Jack Richardson, CM. He, in turn, was mentored by legendary recording engineer, music producer, and composer, Phil Ramone. In essence, this is a family business. From our technical staff to the president, students will find the guidance and support they require to be ready and find a job in the music industry.
After spending the last few years working with prominent bands across the globe, GGGarth is back home and at the helm, to continue his vision for Nimbus: to give students a deep understanding of what it takes, as well as the necessary technical tools, to succeed in the music industry.
In December 2021, one of our instructors, Daniel Cutler, was able to help a graduating student get an interview at the MRG Group in Vancouver. The interview was for an internship, but he left the interview with an offer for a full-time job as a Booking Coordinator. Four months later, our graduate has moved up to Booking Manager!
