Samuel Woywitka is a Juno award winning Montreal-based songwriter/producer who has spun a wealth of studio experience into a career working alongside exciting Canadian and international artists in an eclectic mix of different genres and styles.
His early career highlights include serving as head engineer for Grammy Award-winning producer Chin Injeti (Eminem, 50 Cent), and working with DJ Khalil (Dr. Dre, Anderson .Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West) . Through mentorship with these producers, Sam developed a style of organic
performances with modern production techniques.
Sam pushed his career to the next level by moving from Vancouver after graduation, to Montreal, where he quickly landed a position co-running Indica Records’ recording studio. Since his move Sam has found himself writing and producing with artists such as Patrick Watson, Half Moon Run, Teke Teke, and Luca Fogale, which has led to various sync placements in shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Netflix’s “Charmed”.
Recently, he worked as an engineer for platinum-selling Canadian indie-rock band Half Moon Run’s third album, produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (Frank Zappa, White Stripes, Morissey). Which received a Juno win for Adult Alternative Album of the year.
Sam has been focused on his newly formed record label “Hidden Ship”. The label’s debut project is the band FHANG which is the collaborative debut album between Mishka
Stein (Patrick Watson, Leonard Cohen) and Samuel Woywitka.
Since the release of the debut self titled album the band has found themselves sitting at number 2 on the CBC Radio 3 Top 10 songs list, featured on Radio-Canada OHDIO, as well as appearing on the Earshot top 50 charts and the NACC
national top 200.
