Supplies/fees: 0
Textbooks: $100.00

Module Length: 4 Months

Learn to make the recording studio your instrument. The Advanced Music Production program is one of Vancouver’s most specialized music producing courses. This program will ensure that you have mastered the technology, while also establishing your own clear creative point-of-view to get the most out of your artists, and understand how you work as a producer.

After choosing your band or artist, you will benefit from instructor guidance as you produce your first full project.  Throughout the program, you will help an artist refine, develop and realise their vision: one of the most rewarding aspects of this exciting career path.

You’ll also have an opportunity to expand your producer’s repertoire by using the techniques of decades gone by to produce your own cover songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

Develop the wisdom you need to make the decisions that lead to getting the best out of musicians and to create compelling and successful music. Come out of the AMP program with your own EP and get ready to start your career as a producer, confident that you can work in any studio, with any artist.

Upon successful completion of the AMP course, you will receive a Diploma in Advanced Music Production.

The Nimbus Advantage

  • Hands-on Learning
  • Ample Studio Time
  • Best Instructors
  • Smallest Class Sizes
  • Top-level Gear
  • We build our lessons around a 95%+ hands-on approach to education. You’ll learn by doing rather than simply sitting and taking notes because our classes take place in actual studios, with the actual gear being discussed. You’ll hear the difference right away so that you can learn the concepts faster, rather than read about it in a book.

  • With your own dedicated studio time, you’ll have all the time you need to fully internalize the skills and concepts you’re learning, develop a portfolio by recording your own bands, and walk away with tangible top quality products. These studios are just for student learning, so you won’t have to share your space with clients.

  • The most important part of any school is the teachers and the quality of education they provide. Nimbus leads the pack with an astounding list of engineers and producers from Grammy and Juno award winners, to gold and platinum record holders. You’ll hear the industry secrets directly from the people that are actually out there in the trenches every day.

  • There is no bad seat at Nimbus. You get more direct access to instruction and gear because we cap our classes at 8 students. This remarkably low student-to-teacher ratio is the best in the industry, and helps ensure the best learning environment possible. That means that you’ll be right at the console rather than fighting for a view with 25-30 other students.

  • To be a top-level engineer, you need to learn on top-level gear. At Nimbus you’ll get your hands on the absolute highest-quality industry-standard gear and the very latest digital technology, so that you can walk into any world-class studio and know every button and knob. This includes 3 amazing SSL consoles and the latest ProTools HDX and HDX2 systems.

…Nimbus doesn’t feel like a school at all. Nimbus feels more like home. There really is no other place like it. If your dreams are in the music and recording industry, your money will be wasted going elsewhere. Nimbus is the future of music. Fact.
Nolan Gladu
Nimbus is more than just a school. It is a philosophy, an attitude, a way of life… My experience there has made me not only a better engineer, but a better person as well!
Owen Marmorek
Not only did I learn how to engineer and produce, I learned how to utilize my time and energy for something I really care about, and all the while having more fun then I ever imagined possible.
Chloe Anne Lloyd
